Now that the largest online and offline retailers are demanding you un-DRM your music, what are you going to do, record industry?

Of course, of course, on any other issue Walmart totally sucks. But this could be good for consumers.

DRM free music …in Europe

So I was just able to buy a 256k DRM-free version of George Harrisson’s ‘Sweet Lord’, to replace my earlier downloaded 128k version. Seeing as how I’m in Europe and the Amazon store doesn’t actually work here, this was my first opportunity to obtain DRM-free music download’s legally. Quite an event, really. These Apple people are really on to something. DRM-free…what’ll they think of next? an iPod that’ll play Xvid? We can but dream.

Now if only ALL music in the iTunes store was DRM-free…
