Last night I was talking to my buddies Karl and John about how email is really overrated and too often used to cover your ass (’I sent you that didn’t I?). To get real results in convincing people or explaining things, there’s no substitute for real conversation or even the phone. Today Karl sent me this article from the NYT.
The Office Phone Call Was Music to the Ears - New York Times: “Ultimately, resorting to e-mail rather than picking up the phone results in not merely a quieter workplace but also a feebler one. Until we can convince senior employees to do a better job of sharing what they know about business and how they know it, we’re all better off making phone calls — and eavesdropping on those of others.”
Thanks Karl
